Campers will dive into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics throughout the week, becoming familiar with topics such as aeronautics, soldering, electricity, and magnetism while learning engineering practices. Expect a lot of collaboration, inventiveness, and creativity! All campers will receive a pass to the museum so they can continue to enjoy the spirit of EdVenture on site.

How Amusing: Ah, the thrill of an amusement park…zipping around on race cars, zooming through the loops of a roller coaster and enjoying a cold, refreshing ice cream treat at the end of a hot, sticky day. Can’t get better than that! Students will divide into competitive theme park teams. They will challenge other teams in specific engineering-related contests with the goal of creating the most fantastic and thrilling theme park experience!
Robotics 101: Using LEGO® bricks, students will learn to design, program, and control fully functional robotic models. They will use software to plan, test, and modify sequences of instructions for a variety of life-like robotic behaviors. They will also learn to collect and analyze data from the robot's sensors.

Students in this camp will find themselves stranded on an abandoned island
filled with perilous obstacles–dark caves, wild animals, cold temperatures, little food, and separation from the comforts of home. They will work collaboratively with their tribe members to compete against other tribes in specific engineering-related projects aimed at trying to survive the harsh island conditions and escape to their freedom. The tribe with the most points at the end of the week will claim the honor of Survivor: Engineer’s Cove winner. Camp instructed by Engineering for Kids of The Midlands.

Up, Up and away! During our Aerospace Engineering class, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They will construct a shock-absorbing system designed to protect marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, as well as create their own air-powered rockets. They say that in space no one can hear you scream... with joy while playing your very own version of the classic video game, Pong-Pong In Space! We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard to identify and capture the rules of play and characters for our game. Then, we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the program, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).
